Wieders – Winegrowers with heart and soul

How has it all started? 30 years ago, our family decided to bid farewell to the stables and fields, the cattle and grain and to focus entirely on viticulture, which, up to that moment, had only played a minor role. Our unique, multi-layered soils and the mild climate provided us with the ideal preconditions for growing high-quality red wine varieties, in particular the Blaufränkisch. With the success, also the business was extended step by step, only our passion has remained the same.

Gut Aiderbichl

Gut Aiderbichl is Europe’s largest sanctuary for rescued animals. It is also a meeting place for people and animals since its founding in 2001.

The “Nikolospiel”

The “Nikolospiel” in Bad Mitterndorf is a parlor and parade game that takes place every year on the 5th December is presented in various places. The performance originally took place in farmhouses and inns. Since 1959, the performance on the centerplace in the middle of the village has also been presented to a wider audience. Hvar’s Arsenal – The European Heritage Awards/Europa Nostra Awards 2020

The winners of the 2020 European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s top honour in the field, were celebrated with a virtual gathering that connected heritage lovers, professionals, volunteers and supporters from across Europe and beyond. The town of Hvar took part in the celebration from the Arsenal building, which won in the category of “conservation” for the renovation and strengthening of the Arsenal’s load-bearing structure.
